FSB seizes documents from Russian Post

Employees of Russia's Federal Security Service – the FSB – have seized documents from the headquarters of Russian Post in Moscow, reported news agency Interfax on Friday, citing a source in law enforcement.

The documents were seized, said the source, as part of the early stages of an investigation into allegations that General Director Dmitry Strashnov was earning an unreasonable salary.

According Legal.Report, police were also looking into reports of Strashnov's deputies earning unreasonable salaries, as well as into other abuses at the company.

• At the end of November 2016, Russia's Prosecutor General's Office announced that it was able to prove that Russian Post's director general Dmitry Strashnov was receiving illegal salary payments of more than 95 million rubles. The office handed over all materials serving as evidence to the Prosecutor General of Russia's Investigation Committee for a criminal investigation.
• Russian Post has stated the Strashnov received 95 million rubles as a bonus for his work in 2014. His salary amounts to 307,000 rubles a month.
• On November 20, newspaper Vedomosti reported that Russia's Communications Minister Nikolai Nikifirov had signed a decree raising Strashnov's salary to 10 million rubles a month.
