Massive thunderstorm rips through Moscow

On the evening of July 13, a severe thunderstorm ripped through the city of Moscow. Emergency response officials advised locals to close their windows and to avoid parking under trees that might shed heavy branches. The city's residents were also warned to stay indoors, and not to seek shelter in underground walkways. At least one woman complained that the power to her apartment building had been shut off to prevent possible electrical surges.
