Igor Chaika, the son of Russia's Attorney General Yury Chaika, said that he was surprised to learn that he has a code name in Russia's Federal Registry and did so through media reports. His code name is ЙФЯУ9 (transliterated as YFYAU9).
In an interview with Rambler News Service, Igor Chaika said that he had nothing to do with the Registry's decision to conceal his name, and that of his brother Artyom (whose code name is ЛСДУ3 (transliterated as LSDU3)), when listing their property.
"I learned about it from the media and for a long time did not understand why [this was done]. I [found it] funny. My brother and I exchanged messages for a long time on the question of [his new name]," said Chaika.
Chaika also said that his considered the investigation launched into his family's assets by head of Anti-Corruption Foundation and oppositionist leader Aleksei Navalny to be "harassment".
