Russian regulators open a case against state television network for airing a commercial that was too loud

Russian regulators are investigating the television channel Rossiya 1 for broadcasting a commercial that was too loud. According to a complaint received by the Federal Anti-Monopoly Service, the advertisement allegedly aired at a decibel level normally reserved for TV programs themselves.

A preliminary review by regulators found that the commercial exceeded the maximally permissible volume level of 1.5 decibels by 2.0-4.4 decibels.
