Human rights activists spoke about the forced mobilization of Crimean Tatars for the war against Ukraine.

In Crimea, the Russian authorities, as part of their mobilization for the war against Ukraine, issued disproportionately more summonses to the Crimean Tatars. The figure is up to 90%, CrymSOS reported.
The mass mobilization among the Crimean Tatar population told the publication «Medusa» representative of the President of Ukraine in the Crimea Tamil Tashev. According to her, hundreds of summonses were issued in areas with a high concentration of Tatars only in the first days of mobilization. These include such places as Bakhchisaraya, Stroganovka village, Dubrovskaya valley village, Sary-Su massif, Saki town and Zuya village.
According to Afize Karimova, Crimean Tatars consider mobilization a new stage of oppression by Russia. Lawyer Nikolay Polozov called it a war crime, violating the provisions of article 51 IV of the Geneva Convention relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War.
