A counter-terrorist operation regime has been introduced in Russian regions bordering Ukraine, which is larger in scope than the events in Chechnya

It is reported that "this special legal regime was introduced in connection with Kiev's unprecedented attempt to destabilize the situation in a number of Russian regions." During this regime, the authorities can restrict the movement of cars and pedestrians, suspend the provision of communication services, prohibit the sale of weapons and alcohol, and confiscate the vehicles of organizations.

In terms of area and the number of people covered (almost 4 million people), this is the largest counter-terrorist operation regime in the entire history of Russia. Previously, the leadership belonged to the counter-terrorist operation regime in Chechnya, which was introduced in 1999 and was canceled only in 2009. This regime was also introduced in certain regions of Ingushetia, Dagestan, Karachay-Cherkessia, North Ossetia, and Stavropol Krai.
