“They’re gonna kill me there”

After the publication of ASTRA about illegal sale of fuel and drugs in the 132 Gorlovka brigade, check was appointed, but all the commanders remained in place, and the one who told about it now faces either prison or death.

Earlier, ASTRA spoke about the investigation of drug trafficking, fuel and weapons in the 132nd Gorlovka brigade, which was conducted by Deputy Officer Kirill Demin. After that, he was tortured, demoted and thrown into an assault squad, from which the soldier had to escape. Before being detained by the military police, Demin managed to hand over a lot of evidence: three hours of audio and video recordings and two dozen pages of documents. Among the materials handed over by Demin are secretly recorded conversations with commanders, an interrogation of a participant in a scheme to sell fuel, and even a real control purchase from a soldier’s drug dealer in Gorlovka.

After the publication of ASTRA, colleagues told Demin that a general inspection came to the brigade on the instructions of Defense Minister Belousov. However, all those whom Demin called involved in the sale of fuel and drugs, as well as in torture, remained in their places, the military man himself was not transferred from the unit where he was tortured with electric shocks, and now he was again threatened with a criminal case for leaving the unit.

After being detained by the military police, Demin was taken to a psychiatric hospital, where, according to him, he was treated for post-traumatic stress disorder caused by his torture. When he was discharged, he was transferred to a military hospital and locked in a glass box, and “exactly one day later they wanted to take me somewhere with the military police. I began to doubt these actions and, taking the bag I received from the warehouse, left the hospital unhindered. Naturally, after what I had experienced, I was afraid that they were going to drag me away to some unknown place. I asked for help and understanding, but then the doors were closed and no normal explanations of what was happening to me were told,” he told ASTRA. After that, he was threatened with a criminal case on unauthorized abandonment of the unit.

At the same time, the man claims that he himself came to the military investigation department of Saratov and asked for protection.

“I haven’t been able to find the truth for more than a year. Already I was not provided with security, although this was demanded by the military prosecutor of the city of Yenakiyevo. Instead of security, I was provided with a broken rib on the front line. At this time, I myself came to the military investigation department of Saratov and thereby showed that I escaped only when I was in danger. In the brigade, as far as I know, they continue to throw mud at me, but in fact they didn’t show me anything, and they won’t be able to show me anything. They’re trying to make me look like some kind of drug addict or drunk. Although I was taken to a drug dispensary in Horlovka back then, and the report said that no drugs, alcohol or psychotropic substances were found in my blood or urine. I asked for help from the military prosecutor’s office of the city of Saratov and I really hope that this lawlessness will finally be dealt with according to the letter of law. Now they want to open a case against me: either a term, or sending me to war. I don’t mind going there, but since I’m in danger there, I don’t want to go there. They’ll kill me there. This was said directly to me several times in the thick of those events, and Gyurza personally told my mother on the phone,” says Demin.

“I have served for so many years for the benefit of the state. I risked my life in Popasnaya in the “LPR” during its cleansing. Got a concussion. And after “Akhmat” I went again to the SMO. I spent more than a year there. I really hope that this will not be forgotten, ” the man adds.
