Yandex Pay removed from App Store

Yandex Pay has disappeared from the App Store, the company announced.

Yandex urged users who already have the app installed not to delete it, saying it “works as before, but it currently cannot be reinstalled or updated.” The company stressed that customers’ money remains safe.

The App Store removed Yandex Pay from its foreign versions in July 2026 but kept the app available in the Russian version.

• Yandex Pay, created by Yandex, is a payment service that lets users make cashless payments for purchases online and offline, pay for mobile phone service, and transfer money to accounts at other banks, among other functions. Yandex Bank provides banking services within the app.
• The European Union imposed sanctions on Yandex Bank in July 2025 and later included it in its 21st sanctions package.
• The App Store removed Max, the VKontakte social network app, the Mail.ru email apps, and several other apps belonging to the VK holding company in late June. The Odnoklassniki social network app also became unavailable around the same time, shortly before the EU imposed sanctions on VK.
