Animal rights activists unhappy about new taxidermy exhibit dedicated entirely to depictions of animal sex

There's a protest brewing in St. Petersburg, where animal rights activists plan to picket a new exhibit by taxidermist Pavel Glazkov, called “Secrets of Animals' Intimate Lives.” Activist Svetlana Los, who's known for taking a particularly aggressive stance against animal abuse (including sending death threats to perpetrators), says the exhibit is a criminal scheme to make money at animals' expense.

The “Secrets of Animals' Intimate Lives” is scheduled to premiere on April 15, 2016. It will feature 20 different displays, each of which includes stuffed animals frozen at the moment of coitus.

“Normal people won't go to this exhibit, and they won't bring their children,” Los told the radio station Radio Baltika. Glazkov, meanwhile, defends his project, saying he's doing his part to popularize scientific knowledge.

Not debuting for another two months, the exhibit is already gaining attention on Russian social media, where photographs of Glazkov's stuffed animals—glued together at the loins—have been a big hit (scientifically, of course).

In recent days, the taxidermist's upcoming exhibition has gained popularity on social networks. Internet users have called the event “the exhibit of the year.”
