Russian court says woman is not liable for ex-boyfriend's courtship expenses
An appellate court in Krasnoyarsk has rejected a local man's lawsuit demanding 40,000 rubles ($600) from his former lover to compensate him for the costs of courting her during their four-year romance.
Earlier this month, journalists learned of a 31-year-old Krasnoyarsk attorney who was trying to sue his ex-girlfriend for the costs of dating her. He estimates that he spent 40,000 rubles courting the young woman. (In his lawsuit, he even produced receipts to corroborate this claim.) The man says his ex-girlfriend “groundlessly enriched herself” during the four years of their relationship.
Two courts have now rejected the man's lawsuit.
