Woman in Novosibirsk tries to hide from bailiffs by putting a bucket over her head

Earlier this week, a woman in Novosibirsk tried to hide from bailiffs come to collect on unpaid debts by burying herself under a pile of linoleum tiles and putting a bucket over her head.

According to the news website Ngs.ru, the woman owes 50,000 rubles ($750) in unpaid utilities bills. When bailiffs first came to her home, she lied about her identity and refused to open the door to her apartment. When the debt collectors returned, a man answered the door and told the officers that she wasn't home. When the bailiffs checked the balcony, however, they discovered the woman hiding, poorly, under linoleum tiles, wearing a bucket over her head.

The bailiffs then seized the woman's household appliances and home electronics. If she cannot raise the money to pay her debts within ten days, her possessions will be sold to cover the outstanding bills.
