Court marshals seized an apartment owned by the daughter of Moscow's mayor. Then they gave it back

Court marshals in St. Petersburg briefly seized the apartment of Anna Sobyanina, the daughter of Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin, in connection with outstanding debts, according to the real-estate registry “Infometer” (a project by the Mikhail-Khodorkovsky-founded Open Media group).

Data published on Infometer says the court marshals seized the home in July 2017, but then released the apartment a month later, citing regulations that allow them to drop a case if they “can’t find the debtor or their property.”

At the time of this writing, Russia’s State Registration Records contain no information about police actions against Sobyanina’s home on Malaya Konyushennaya Street in St. Petersburg. The information posted on the court marshals’ website does not specify if the apartment was seized as part of a legal collection action. Open Media was unable to contact Anna Sobyanina, and the Moscow Mayor’s Office did not respond to media inquiries.
