Russia bars entry to the country to 61 US citizens

Russia has barred entry to the country to 61 US citizens, the Russian Foreign Ministry informs.

“As a tit-for-tat measure in response to the constantly expanding sanctions of the US <…> 61 US citizens, including heads of top military enterprises, media platforms and rating agencies, airlines and shipbuilding companies, as well as certain officials with the US Department of State involved in the spread of fake news on “malicious” Russian cyber attacks, have been added to the stop list,” the ministry said in a statement.

HERE ARE SOME OF THE OFFICIALS PERMANENTLY BARRED FROM ENTERING RUSSIA:

• US Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm;

• US Secretary of the Treasury Janet Yellen;

• White House Communications Director Kate Bedingfield;

• Head of the Office of Sanctions Coordination at the US Department of State James O’Brien;

• President of United Airlines Brett Hart;

• President of Universal Pictures Peter Cramer.

A total of 963 people have been included on Russia’s list of US citizens under individual sanctions.
