Russian t-shirt print shop refuses to produce Z-shirts, MP vows to pursue investigation

Aleksandr Khinstein, chairman of the Russian parliament’s Committee on Information Technology and Information Policy says he is going to seek a prosecutor’s investigation against Pritaninka, a shop producing custom print t-shirts, for refusing to produce shirts with Z-symbols.

Pritaninka refused to produce a set of Z-themed t-shirts earlier, saying it was a “decision made by the management board.” In a WhatsApp chat with its customer, the company said the Z symbols were the reasons behind the refusal.

Yevgeny, the customer, sent the screenshots of the chat to Khinstein. The MP promised he would file a report to the prosecutor’s office and the Rospotrebnadzor, Russia’s federal service for consumers’ rights protection. The customer, he says, should have been served.

“Let alone the Z-boycott, of course. It has become normal in Riga, Warsaw or Lviv, but this shouldn’t be common practice here in Moscow,” he wrote.

An auto repair shop in Russia-occupied Crimea will be bulldozed down by the local court ruling after its owner refused to fix a Russian army truck, as it was revealed earlier today.
