Drafted man dies in Russia’s Novosibirsk region - Russian agency TASS

A second mobilised man has died at the Military Command Academy in Russia’s Novosibirsk, state news agency TASS reports, citing the region’s ombudswoman Nina Shalabayeva.

His body was discovered on the territory of a personnel formation point.

“Yes, we’ve got two [dead draftees] now. I don’t know [what happened], there’s an investigation. When an investigation is being conducted, only the people responsible for it can give commentary. Only after the situation has been clarified and conclusions have been made,” Shalabayeva told the NGS outlet.

She added that it was currently unclear whether the death was due to natural causes or not. The date of death is also unknown.

On 3 October, it was reported that a first draftee died in the Novosibirsk region of Russia. It was said that the man had died in his sleep at the Novosibirsk Military Command Academy.

Yesterday, 6 October, local outlet Tayga.info reported that a 35-year-old volunteer from Bratsk Alexander Koltun had died at an army training camp in Novosibirsk. His mother was told that he had died of a heart attack, although he has never had heart problems, according to her.
