‘We don’t need this kind of money’: mobilised men from Russia’s Tatarstan ask that their relatives not be made to donate money for gear

Mobilised residents of Tatarstan’s city of Menzelinsk have recorded a video, in which they talk about their wives being made to donate money for military gear in a “voluntary-compulsory way”.

“Our wives work in kindergartens, schools; they’re being made to donate money in a voluntary-compulsory way. We don’t need this kind of money,” the men say in the video.

They emphasise that they do not want to leave their families with no money.

Earlier today, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that all mobilisation activities in Russia would come to an end in two weeks. According to Putin, 223,000 people have been drafted under the “partial mobilisation” out of the planned 300,000.
