Governor: Russian air defence takes down drone near Engels

Russia’s air defence system has taken down a drone near Engels in the Saratov region, says Roman Busargin, the local governor.

“Our air defence systems have taken down a UAV near Engels. The debris of the drone damaged a fence of a detached house, a car, and a garage. One of the houses also had its window smashed,” Busargin said.

Alexander Bogomaz, the Bryansk governor, and Vyacheslav Gladkov, the Belgorod governor, have also reported taking down drones. No casualties have been reported.

Russia reported taking down a Ukrainian drone over the Engels airfield on 26 December. As per the MoD report, the fragments of the drone killed three servicemen.
