Russian Volunteer Corps announces a ‘visit’ to the Bryansk region after Bryansk governor reports thwarting ‘Ukrainian saboteurs’ in the region

The Russian Volunteer Corps (RDK), a group whose members say they are Russians who fight for Ukraine, that it has “paid another visit” to the Bryansk region, according to a post on the group’s Telegram channel.

RDK militants say they carried out “combat missions” and communicated with local residents, handing them flyers and urging them to “take cover during combat.”

A video attached to the Telegram post shows one RDK fighter speaking to a civilian standing in front of his home. The man says they’re located in the village of Sluchovsk. The fighter hands him some pamphlets, asks the man to distribute them to acquaintances, and advises him to shelter for two hours.

A few hours earlier, Bryansk Governor Alexander Bogomaz said that the FSB’s border service had prevented 20 members of a “Ukrainian and Reconnaissance group” from crossing into Russia territory. That event also reportedly took place near the village of Sluchovsk.

Russia’s Ministry of Defense reports that “a sabotage and reconnaissance group of more than 15 people was prevented from penetrating” Russian territory, and that the group suffered losses before retreating to Ukraine.

On March 2, the Russian authorities reported that “saboteurs” had made incursions into the Bryansk region. The Russian Volunteer Corps later took responsibility for those events.
