Donetsk region authorities: two injured after missile strike on Avdiivka

Two people have been injured in a missile strike on Avdiivka, Ukraine-controlled part of the Donetsk region, governor Pavlo Kyrylenko said.

According to the official, the city located on the frontline still has a population of about 1,700 people.

“There are means and ways for evacuation. All civilians should leave the active combat zone. Life is priceless. Evacuate yourself!” he urged people.

The authorities also reported that Toretsk had been struck. Preliminary reports suggest that no one was injured.

“A school where an Unbreakable Point is set up is damaged along with a church annex and apartment blocks located 100 metres away from the epicentre. According to preliminary information, the enemy used a aviation bomb,” Kyrylenko noted.

On 22 May, the authorities claimed that “a Ukrainian army sabotage and reconnaissance group” made an incursion into the Grayvoronsky district, Belgorod region. It was reported that clashes broke out in border-adjacent settlements, while Ukrainian armoured vehicles arrived at the Grayvoron checkpoint. The news emerged this morning that a woman born in 1941 died during the evacuation mission from the Grayvoron district in the Belgorod region, Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov reported.

The Russian Investigative Committee opened a criminal case on six counts, including terrorism. A counter-terrorism order was imposed in the Belgorod region.

The Russian Defence Ministry reported that more than 70 saboteurs who made the incursion into the region had been eliminated.
