Ukrainian official: six people injured in Kherson region in Russian attack on evacuee boat

Six people have been injured after the Russian army attacked a boat that was transporting evacuees from the areas flooded following the Kakhovka dam collapse, head of the Ukrainian president’s office Andriy Yermak reports.

“The Russian army attacked a boat with civilians who were evacuating from the [Dnipro’s] left bank in the Kherson region. They opened fire at the backs of the civilians,” Yermak wrote.

According to him, the injured people were rushed to hospitals after reaching Kherson. Doctors are currently fighting for their lives.

On 8 June, rescue teams were caught in shelling during an evacuation mission in the Kherson region. The regional prosecution reported one killed and six injured in the attack. The number of affected people later rose to nine. Two rescue service workers, a police officer, a doctor, and a volunteer from Germany are among them.
