Russia says fighter jet dispatched in response to U.S. reconnaissance drone detected near border

Russia’s Defense Ministry reported that it dispatched a Su-30 fighter jet after detecting a drone flying over the Black Sea approaching the Russian border.

The drone, which was identified as a MQ-9A Reaper reconnaissance drone belonging to the U.S. Air Force, turned away from the border as the Russian fighter jet approached, reports the Ministry.
