Palestinian web pages and news agencies are releasing videos capturing the aftermath of Israel’s retaliatory strikes on Hamas facilities in the Gaza Strip. Videos published by bloggers and the media (warning for extreme violence!) show scenes of destruction and numerous victims.

In conversation with The Insider, the activist of a Russian-language community in Gaza shared that the Gaza Strip has almost no bomb shelters:
“The entire region is a high-density development zone, with over 2 million residents squeezed into an area of 350 square kilometers. Most buildings had been erected before Hamas came to power and had been designed without heavy combat in mind. The cramped conditions make it impossible to build standalone shelters. Meanwhile, the Gaza Strip features a broad net of underground tunnels Hamas uses to manufacture, store, and move around weapons, including missiles. However, common Gaza residents can't get into those tunnels.”
Earlier today, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant declared a “complete siege” of the Gaza Strip as Israel fights the Hamas terror group:
“I have ordered a complete siege on the Gaza Strip. There will be no electricity, no food, no fuel, everything is closed. We are fighting human animals and we are acting accordingly.”
The fighters of the Palestinian movement Hamas, which is labeled as a terrorist group in Israel, the U.S., and the EU, attacked Israel on the morning of October 7, launching over 2,000 missiles and invading Israeli districts across the border.
The latest data suggests that at least 700 Israelis have been killed and around 2,400 wounded during the two days of Hamas’ attacks. On October 8, Israel reported recovering 260 bodies from the location of a music festival in the desert in the south of Israel not far from the Gaza Strip border.
Israel's retaliatory strikes on Gaza have left 493 dead and 2,751 wounded. Hamas fighters abducted at least 100 Israelis and are keeping them hostage.
