Four Russian citizens killed in Israel, six reported missing
Four Russian citizens have been killed and another six have been reported missing after Hamas attacked Israel, the Russian embassy in Israel told Russian state news agency RIA Novosti on October 10. All four Russian citizens who were killed also held Israeli citizenship.
The embassy previously reported that two Russian citizens had been killed. RIA Novosti said one of those killed was Denis Belenky, a 47-year-old man from Russia’s Kaliningrad region who had moved to Israel in 1992.
On the morning of October 7, Hamas militants, who control the Gaza Strip, attacked Israel. They fired about three thousand rockets and breached the border fence, fighting with the Israeli military and taking dozens of hostages. In response, the Israeli army launched massive strikes on the Gaza Strip. Israel has officially declared a state of war.
