The court's decision, of course, did not come as a surprise. I wanted to believe that the court would acquit Beketov, which he should have done according to the law, in my opinion. But heroic judges, unfortunately, have not appeared yet. There were not many violations during the process. This is understandable: Magistrate Khalatov would not be interested in violating anything with such close attention from the public and the media. From the point of view of the process itself, everything was fine. But the decision itself is wrong and illegal. There is no element of slander in Beketov’s actions. I believe that here the judge followed the lead of the prosecutor's office. There is no violation that Strelchenko did not appear in court. He provided supporting documents. The judge shouldn’t run all over the city looking for Strelchenko. What was correct in the judge’s actions: the victim’s representative proposed not to call Strelchenko, the prosecutor’s office asked to simply read out his testimony given in the previous trial, but we were against it, and the judge did not take risks and followed the absolutely correct, legal path, obliging Strelchenko to come. The court systematically summoned him; here the judge was consistent.
On November 13, we receive the verdict in our hands, first we write an appeal to the Khimki City Court, because the case was considered by the magistrate court. Further on the authorities are the regional court and so on.
