Sulim Yamadayev, a former Chechen field commander, then commander of the Vostok battalion, which had federal subordination, according to news agency sources at the headquarters of the operational group of troops in the North Caucasus and Khankala, was dismissed from military service and sent to the reserve. A source from RIA Novosti reported that Defense Minister Anatoly Serdyukov signed a corresponding decree.
Recently, the Vostok commander was put on the federal wanted list. Yamadayev has a long-standing conflict with Kadyrov, to whom he does not obey. On April 14 of this year, the Vostok convoy did not give way to Kadyrov’s motorcade, and shooting was opened. After this, Kadyrov accused Yamadayev of killing civilians, and a criminal case was opened.
Despite the federal search, Sulim Yamadayev participated in the operation of Russian troops in Georgia.
