This is the stadium!

Of course, it’s hard to surprise us. Moreover, after all those billions that the country promises to spend consistently on the Universiade in Kazan, the Olympics in Sochi and the World Cup. But the place for amazement is still left. The new cost of the stadium in St. Petersburg on Krestovsky Island is named. Vice Governor Filimonov announced the amount (hold on stronger)-33 billion rubles! If the arena will really cost such an amount, then the St. Petersburg stadium will be included in the top three most expensive stadiums in the world after the Midoulends in New Jersey and the new Wembley in London.

Those two objects pulled about one and a half billion dollars. But they have already pulled, and the St. Petersburg stadium is still far from the end. It is built on the site of the former stadium named after Kirov, demolished in 2007.

A beautiful story was planned there. The last event at the old stadium was to be the Rolling Stonez concert, but just before Kit Richards, legendarly fell from the palm tree, and Kirov stadium was broken everyday, without accompaniment of great music.

The very first, sketch option involved the construction of a modern stadium for 50 thousand people for about a hundred million euros. That is quite a bit. By the way, UEFA believes that the price of man-space during construction should cost approximately three thousand euros. And, for example, the new stadium in Krasnodar, which is going to jointly finance the state and billionaire Galitsky to the world championship, will carefully meet the international standard-6 billion for the 50,000th arena.

In Moscow, however, the construction of the Dynamo stadium will cost more-4.5-5 thousand euros per place. This, however, approximately, because the historical stadium of the year only tried to demolish, and the whole construction is ahead. Yes, and it will be difficult to work, since we are talking about reconstruction with the preservation of the historical facade and some other cost “encumbrances”. So five thousand euros per place, given the specifics of construction in the capital, can be considered reasonable. But Peter!

No, there are miracles too. Firstly, it will be the most northern stadium of this class in the world. Secondly, they will build it, as it has been done since Peter's times, in a swamp. Let it have already built another arena that stood for several decades in this swamp. Thirdly, there will be a unique sliding roof. Fourth, an even more unique retractable field. A miracle of light, neither give nor take! The lawn, in the days when there are no matches, entirely, with the help of an outlandish mechanism, will be exported outside the bowl, and there this colossus will sunbathe in the sun, instead of lying in the shadow of the stands without the necessary ventilation (and oxygen starvation is almost inevitable). Fifthly, they designed a “simple” stadium, and now it has become not just a stadium, but the second main arena of the future of the World Cup! And, therefore, adjustments were required.

All this is understandable. But 33 billion rubles! This is completely unthinkable. After all, the same “Wembley”, although it is more expensive, but its capacity is more - 90 thousand. And the level of comfort, not only for the inhabitants of the business, is truly royal. It has already become a common place to mention the number of toilets in this stadium. They are there - hold on even stronger! - 2618 !!! This is a record. And there is nothing funny in this record. Because everyone who was at our stadiums knows what a wild problem it is. And then 2618 sorters. However, we have nowhere to eat fans, and 10,000 seats in restaurants have 10,000 seats on Wembley. In general, I understand why it costs one and a half billion. And I do not understand why in St. Petersburg it will actually cost the same. And keep in mind that in London the stadium was not built by Tajiks. And who will build in St. Petersburg, and there is nothing to guess.

If someone seems incorrect with the “Wembley”, we recall that the “Herd de France”, the main stadium of France, the transformer stadium for more than 80 thousand places, at which the final of the 1998 World Cup, cost an unprecedented, as it seemed, the amount of 450 million euros. And the entire program for the construction and reconstruction of the stadiums pulled by 600 million to that championship. Half of the St. Petersburg estimate. In Germany, about two billion was spent before the 2006 world championship, and the most expensive and most impressive Alliance Arena stadium in Munich cost less than 350 million euros. With the same 70 thousand seats as in St. Petersburg. Another magnificent stadium belonging to the London Arsenal - Emirates was very expensive, almost 400 million pounds for 60 thousand spectators. But this is still an average of one and a half times cheaper than the arena for Zenit, and this, once again, will repeat, expensive Britain, where there will be no gift Tajik labor.

Along the way, I would like to dispel one myth. The name “Gazprom-Arena” was somehow fixed for the St. Petersburg monster. Although officially this name was not approved anywhere. Let just such a “beautiful” name like both the governor Matvienko and Mr. Miller. And with this one could put up with this, they say, the owner is a master. After all, the money is Gazprom? But not! Most of the money is definitely state! Another thing is that Zenit was promised to transfer the stadium for preferential use, and the owner of Zenit Gazprom must pay for the assignment of his own name and then participate in its maintenance. But the construction goes at the expense of Peter's budget. And maybe this is the whole secret?

Indeed, from the moment the project of the Japanese architect Kurokawa (soon died) was adopted in 2006, the deadlines for the surrender of the object were adjusted in a total of 16 times, that is, different officials called 16 different dates for the completion of the construction. Accordingly, the price of the issue has also changed. They immediately forgot about someone voiced 100 million, and the starting price was 250 million euros. And then they still said that Gazprom would pay for everything. Then there were 13 billion. And it was already budget money. In 2008, at first they called 20 billion, then 23.5 billion. And finally the current 33 billion.

At the last moment, however, a mystery arose. Very indicative, by the way. Already after Filimonov’s billions, Matvienko introduced a law on changing the price of the stadium to the SKS. And there other money appears there. There were supposedly 13 billion (which actually sounded three years ago), and now it takes 22 billion 573 million rubles (which is actually less than they said in August 2008). And this despite the fact that Filimonov clearly indicated the rise in price of the project in connection with the World Cup by 8.4 billion. If this is a rise in price to add to what Matvienko asks for deputies, then somewhere it will turn out 31 billion.

And a little later, Valentina Ivanovna turned to the Ministry of Sports with a request to allocate to the stadium - we continue to keep the seats under with - 10 billion. I don’t even ask you to imagine how much sports fields, pools, inexpensive physical education complexes could be built with this money. What is there - we have approximately the same amounts of the Olympic training of national teams. But to hell all this! Let's better finish the stadium in St. Petersburg with the whole country. And then someone is clearly not enough for bread with butter.

In short, everyone has already become confused in these calculations, which contradict each other, and the error in the calculations at ease fluctuates for a billion and three billion here. But two things are undeniable. First: this stadium cannot and should not cost so much. And the second: only state money can be thrown with such ease.
