In the inscriptions there are two variable groups of letters: the letter at the beginning and three or four letters at the end, and the groups of letters at the end begin with the same pair ჩყ. It can be assumed that at the beginning is the face value, and at the end - the date. At the same time, ჩყი - 1810 and ჩყიე - 1815 differ in one letter.
We also note that the years with zero, that is, 1804 , 1808 and 1810 , are recorded in three letters, and 1815 and 1831 - four. Now it's time to think about why, in the condition of the task, the alphabet is given and why the compiler suggests finding a place in it for the disappeared letter, as well as draw an analogy with the record of numbers in old writing, Cyrillic and Hebrew: in them the numbers are letters, each letter denotes a certain number of units, tens, hundreds or thousands.
Let's see where the used letters are in the alphabet (highlighted in red):
And in their places: ა - 1 , დ - 4 , ე - 5 (while everything converges!), ი - 9 (denotes 10 ), ლ - 11 (denotes 30 ) and then ყ - 24 (denotes 800 ) and ჩ - 26 (denotes 1000 ). It turns out that the numbers go in the following order: first units, then dozens, then hundreds and thousands; However, there are malfunctions, which, apparently, are precisely caused by disappeared letters. If you restore in a legitimate place ჱ (denotes 8 , it is highlighted in italics), then we should get
| 1 234 5 67 8 9 | 1 2 3 456789 | 1234567 8 9 | 1 ... |
| Units | dozens | Hundreds | thousands |
But ყ ( 800 ) and ჩ ( 1000 ) are shifted to one place to the beginning, apparently, because between ლ ( 30 ) and ყ ( 800 ) there is not enough another letter.
So, we completed the first task: ჱ ( 8 ) stood in the eighth position, between ზ ( 7 ) and თ ( 9 ).
Now let's look at the designations of the nominal. Bullets - ე ( 5 ), half -wraps - ი ( 10 ), Bisty - კ ( 20 , because it is between ი ( 10 ) and ლ ( 30 ), which we already know). The designations of the semi -abase and double abase, the face value of which should vary four times, are separated by two signs (რსტუ).
Judging by the position in the alphabet and depending on where there was another disappeared letter, it can be either 90 and 300 , or 100 and 400 ; It is clear that the second option is suitable.
Therefore, the nominal value of Abaza will be ს ( 200 ). Now we know that there are four bullets (20 = 4 × 5), and in Abase there are ten beans (200 = 10 × 20) - this is the answer to the second task, and we can complete the third task (it is clear that if the semiabaz and double abases are minted from silver, then the abas will be silver):
bullets of 1806 - ე ქართული ჩყვ ჩყვ
Abaz 1818 - ს ქართული ჩყიჱ ჩყიჱ
Double Abaz 1824 - უ ქართული ჩყკდ ჩყკდ
Here they are:
Additional comments. The face value was indicated in dinars, this is a small counting unit. The mentioned another disappeared letter is ჲ ( 60 ); In addition, in the modern alphabet there are no ჴ ( 7000 ) and ჵ ( 10,000 ), but this does not interfere with numbers, because now they are recorded by ordinary Arabic numerals, as in a modern Georgian coin of 10 tetri (by the way, pay attention to the face value თეთრი, inherited from old coins).
