Not imagining the victory mechanism really, people believed in it not because they were power, but because it was true.
The main characters of the last weeks - gathered the impossible number of signatures, but so unregistered candidates are also peaceful people. I do not know everyone personally, but those with whom I know, no barricades do not want. We are ready to convince power again and again of the meaninglessness of the chosen strategy, that even their victory does not mean any catastrophe for the authorities.
After all, even the most radical radical, having become a deputy, must agree - otherwise he will not be able to do anything for his voters. So, the authorities will always be able to tell him that, yes, they say, we will give you what you ask, but you’re going into a position, do not raise this issue, for example. And with the deputies from the authorities will have to go to agreements. Parliament is not a rally, it is always compromises.
Of course, trying to convince the authorities of their own security or even usefulness for the system, candidates are not completely right. A blow to the system will not be the behavior of this deputy in the Duma, but the very fact that you can go into power not with the permission of the upper boyars, but by contacting the people. And this example will be contagious.
But, all the same, Sobyanin, or whoever made a decision there, sorry, probably, that he did not go to the costs associated with the admission of opposition candidates. Now the authorities have been in Tsugzvang - whatever do, it will only be worse.
You will admit - the manifestation of weakness, the inevitable requirements of judicial persecution of falsifiers, and those who did not recognize the real signatures, and those who recognized the drawn ones. And you can’t take your deputies and assistants or just small crooks. Not from humanism, but simply because there will be new “elections” soon, and if you do not defend the performers of today's disgrace, then you will not find new ones, people will refuse. And not only the people will come from the people for the conditional Sobyanin in the event of a retreat. The associates in the terrarium of like -minded people instantly cling to the throat - they could not cope, they say, inadequate.
Can't you allow? Or will you allow two or three, pose the lowest danger, but will you refuse the main one? It seems simpler and seems most likely. Well, then what? The authorities, it seems, does not understand that the candidates blocked today are the latest politically active citizens who were ready to play according to the rules of the system. And that if they themselves are not radicalized, then other leaders will come in their place, who will not collect signatures - the roads will be blocked.
The authorities probably reassure themselves with the lack of a “revolutionary organization” - it was not for nothing that they passed the history of the CPSU, as well as the reasoning that the number of people ready to go to a power confrontation is negligible. But the Arab spring, the overthrow of Sargsyan in Armenia and much more classical revolutionary organizations did not require. And there are not many desperate ones. It is important, not how many people are ready to go to storm the bastion, it is important whether there are those who are ready to protect it? Not a soldier - their behavior in difficult situations is unpredictable, there are plenty of examples of “the transfer of the guard to the side of the people” - and ordinary citizens, such as those who surrounded the White House in August 1991? If such people were before, then a variety of pension reforms, total injustice, and demonstrative luxury of the upper reaches were squandered. And the number of radicals increases its actions.
There is another factor. In any conflict, the position of not only its direct participants, but also observers is important. The authorities are right: the number of those who are ready to risk their lives in street protests is really small. But great - and constantly the efforts of the power itself increases - the number of sympathetic to them. And the feeling of moral rightness, the opportunity to feel like an expression of the will of the people leaning forces and leads to battle better than any pipe.
And the authorities do not understand and underestimate another thing. The protest is not at all with the desire to have in anyone, in general, the unnecessary Moscow Duma of these deputies, and not those. This is just a reason, a trigger. And not with personal support of candidates, even so popular Lyubov Sobol. The protest is moral, not a political character, therefore, by the way, it unites people of various political views. A protest is an understanding of the impossibility of living further with this level of rudeness, arrogance and inadequacy of the authorities, with their lies, contempt for people, orientation towards archaic and demodernization.
