The Russian government came up with a non-standard way to replenish the country's gold reserves. The Ministry of Natural Resources has proposed allowing individuals to mine gold. Until now, only organizations had such a right in Russia. “Mining is already underway, so its legalization will only benefit the state,” noted the head of the department, Yuri Trutnev. It is unlikely that a gold rush will begin among Russians, but it will be easier for officials to control the amount of precious metal mined.
