The Board of the St. Petersburg Mathematical Society with a deep regret reports that on February 26, 2017, after a severe continuous illness, an academician-secretary of the Russian Academy of Sciences, director of the International Mathematical Institute named after L. Euler, many years of director of the St. Petersburg branch of the Mathematical Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences, member of the St. Petersburg Mathematical Society since 1970, laureate of state prizes of the USSR and the Russian Federation, international awards of Haineman, Dirac, Shao, Poincare and others, honorary citizen of St. Petersburg Dmitrievich Faddeev.
The TRV-hobby expresses deep condolences to the relatives, friends and colleagues of L. D. Faddeev. We will devote his memory an article in the next issue of our newspaper.
