Last Minute Tours to History

The AST-Press publishing house, together with the State Public Historical Library, launched a new project for the Year of Russian History - “A Guide to History.” Until now, our book market has not had such a format for a popular science publication. Each book is dedicated to a person who played a significant role in the history of Russia.

Volumes have already been published (or rather, volumes; a guidebook shouldn’t be very thick) about Peter I, Ivan the Terrible, Alexander Nevsky, Mikhail Kutuzov, Alexander Pushkin, Dmitry Mendeleev, etc.

Reliability, brevity, excitement, clarity - the new edition is built on these four principles. Reliable historical information is now available to everyone, lavishly illustrated. The publishing house's specialists do a tremendous amount of research to find unique additional materials that are not included, for example, in the Big Historical Dictionary, which serves as the basis for the project.

Anyone who is interested in history, but does not have enough time to study it, will find reliable help in the guide: the fate of heroes, historical places, significant events - all this is presented succinctly, dynamically, accompanied by quotes from documents and plot inserts that help to feel the context of what is happening. Among other things, last-minute tours to history will become a valuable addition to geographical guides.
