The Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation decided to check the Central Bank. This happened after three letters from Alexei Frenkel, accused of organizing the murder of the first deputy chairman of the Central Bank Andrei Kozlov, were published in the press. In these letters, the disgraced banker revealed corruption schemes in the Central Bank. As a result of the inspection, as stated by Deputy Prosecutor General Alexander Buksman, shortcomings in the work were identified.
