Ruslan Yamadayev was killed

According to the latest data, former Duma deputy Ruslan Yamadayev was killed. Previously, reports from the main Russian news agencies did not agree: ITAR-TASS reported that his younger brother, the former commander of the Vostok battalion, Sulim, was killed. Interfax reported that Ruslan was killed. Both brothers were field commanders, then went over to the side of the federal troops. Both were awarded the title of Hero of Russia. Both were in conflict with Chechen President Ramzan Kadyrov.

Ruslan Yamadayev was shot dead in a Mercedes near house 10 on Smolenskaya embankment at 18:30. He died on the spot, another person in the car was seriously injured. According to Interfax, the wounded man is the former military commandant of Chechnya, retired Colonel General Sergei Kizyun.

RIA Novosti reported, citing eyewitnesses, that the shooters fled in an Audi.

Ruslan Yamadayev was a deputy of the Duma of the fourth convocation. After the termination of his parliamentary powers, he, in his own words, took up farming. There is information that he controlled gambling establishments and real estate business in Moscow. Sulim Yamadayev was dismissed from military service on August 22 and sent to the reserve. Before this, he was put on the wanted list, but managed, together with his federally subordinate battalion, to take part in the operation of Russian troops in Georgia.

On April 14 of this year, the Vostok convoy did not give way to Kadyrov’s motorcade, and shooting was opened. After this, Kadyrov accused Sulim Yamadayev of killing civilians, and a criminal case was opened against him.

On the evening of September 24, information appeared that the car in which Ruslan Yamadayev was shot was registered in the name of his brother Sulim. Later it turned out that the car was registered to a certain Moscow resident named Kasabaev. According to the Vremya Novostey newspaper, Yamadayev was traveling from a meeting with one of the high-ranking Kremlin officials. The car was armored, so the killer waited until Yamadayev stopped the car at a traffic light and lit a cigarette, after which he approached the car and shot through the open window. 10 bullets were fired at Yamadayev, 7 bullets were fired at Colonel General Kizyun.

Chechen President Ramzan Kadyrov said he was “amazed and upset” by the news of the death of Ruslan Yamadayev. Meanwhile, the younger brother of the murdered man, Issa Yamadayev, told Vremya Novostei that the family had long been threatened in connection with the conflict between the Vostok battalion and Kadyrov. They tried in every possible way to lure Vostok fighters into units controlled by Kadyrov, and about two months ago, two cars with close relatives of Wahhabis who died in clashes with Vostok were sent to Moscow from Chechnya - according to Issa Yamadayev, with the aim of killing his older brothers.

Let us recall that in November 2006, another enemy of Kadyrov, Movladi Baysarov, commander of the “Highlander” special group under the FSB structures in Chechnya, was shot dead in Moscow. Shortly before this, he was also put on the wanted list in the case of the abduction and murder of the Musaev family (later, that is, after his death, however, it turned out that he was wanted as a witness).
