Do you know why fear is terrible? Because you are afraid of unknown things. When it’s clear exactly what’s so scary about this scary thing, then it’s not so scary anymore. But when you are afraid not of something specific, but in general, then the eyes of fear are large.

For a whole week we have been frightened by the unprecedented know-how of English spies (a cache in a stone - wow! Who would have thought that there could be a cache in a stone! And everyone is afraid! And citizens really feel how the Ring of Enemies around our Motherland is shrinking more and more tightly, how the Fifth Column is marching more and more loudly along the pavement! What are we afraid of, dear fellow citizens? So tell me: what exactly are you afraid of in connection with the discovery of the stone and the presentation of Mark Doe's receipts?

There is such a stupid question at first glance, “so what?”, which impudent children ask in response to moral teaching, but the question is actually very useful. If you watch the FSB video about the stone again, listen to Comrade Ignatchenko, the deputies, the president, and after each of their thesis or bright frame you keep repeating the same “so what?”, it will turn out that the deputies and the security officers will most often have nothing (not to answer directly - “nothing”).

The purely spy “component” of the scandal has already been discussed up and down: about the stone that was shown on film, but could not be removed and presented alive, and about the enemy agents, whom they were neither able to catch red-handed nor, for some reason, expelled from the country They’re in a hurry, I won’t repeat myself. However, here's an interesting thing for you. It is obvious that the enemy has been working closely with the stone for a long time, with the entire embassy hanging around the cobblestone, either reading some parameters from it, or pumping something into it.

So what? Did anyone at least ask what information was actually contained in the “building materials”? Isn't that the most important thing? To hell with them, with human rights activists! We received our thirty Serebrennikov - a measly few thousand pounds. But here, God knows how long, the British have been stealing our secrets, advanced technologies, OUR know-how, minutes of government meetings - and you never know what else! Losses in billions! National security is like a sieve! Due to the fact that miracle stones are scattered around Moscow. And is it only them?

So what? Is anyone worried, interested, calling Patrushev to the carpet? They should all be driven to hell for such a puncture! And send the entire English embassy to hell!

Why such Olympic calm? Or, through these know-how stones, no secrets were learned, nothing was downloaded, but only contact was maintained with the Moscow Helsinki Group?

So what? If there are no losses, secrets are not revealed, then let them have sex through the stone, if they have such a whim. As I understand it, this is the whole problem, that this same spy Doe signed human rights payments.

So, so what? I understand: a spy, payment cards are scary, but what exactly is wrong with that? My question seems stupid to you, but answer it! Lyudmila Alekseeva received this money - and what next? (Despite the fact that she herself denies this fact, that is, it turns out that her word is against Ignatchenko’s word. Yes, I’m a hundred times more likely to believe her than this comrade!)

I'm not crazy, I just want to know absolutely exactly: what should I be afraid of? What can we expect from foreign intelligence services and the pseudo-human rights activists they hire? What do they need this money for - terrorist attacks, sabotage, armed uprisings? There must be some ultimate goal for the one who pays when ordering the music, and for the one who plays this music.

Or is the Orange Revolution frightening us? And do you seriously believe that the Orange Revolution will be organized with a few thousand pounds sterling? Yes, the entire British budget is not enough to organize a revolution in our country! In the same way, I was always amused by the version that Lenin staged a coup only because German intelligence gave him several million for the revolution.

That's not how revolutions are made. And that's not why. And in Ukraine, and in Georgia, and in Kyrgyzstan, and anywhere else in general, revolutions occur not because someone paid for them.

And one more question: where can human rights organizations and non-governmental organizations in general get money? Living on personal savings? It is unlikely that they are so large and they will not last long. Do business? A non-profit organization to engage in commerce? And a non-governmental organization cannot receive funds from the government. And it’s strange for critics of the regime to exist on its own money, even though in Russia entire opposition parties exist precisely according to this principle. Take from our oligarchs? One oligarch already gave them money, and then they gave it to him himself, taking the money away at the same time - there are no more people willing to “help financially.” From abroad?

In the end, why not, except that there are only enemies living abroad who only hate us and only wish us harm. Let them finance it. I just don’t want it to be some kind of dirty money, some criminals or spies. But here the security officers must try, because it is their job, and not Lyudmila Alekseeva’s, to recognize an enemy in a decent-looking citizen. It is the FSB, not an NGO, that should catch spies. But the FSB missed the stone, didn’t catch him red-handed, and didn’t expel him from the country together with the Foreign Ministry. And having failed the case, he now blames everything on civil rights defenders.
