Give joy

On December 1, the Orthodox aid service “Mercy” begins the charitable Christmas campaign “Give Joy.” For this purpose, the website “dari.miloserdie.ru” is opened, which presents a catalog of gifts selected for different categories of people in need - wards of the “Mercy” service. Participants of the action need to reserve one or more gifts presented on the website, buy them and bring them to the reception point within three days (for Muscovites this is the Marfo-Mariinskaya Convent of Mercy). Those who wish, together with the employees of the Mercy service, will be able to personally present gifts to those in need: the elderly and disabled children, orphans, large and single-parent families, the sick and homeless.

Among those to whom the “Give Joy” campaign is addressed: lonely old people, children left without parents and others in need. The action will take place in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Smolensk, Yaroslavl, Veliky Novgorod.

“Many of our charges have no relatives. No one but us will take care of them and congratulate them on the great holiday. We want to give everyone who cares the opportunity to give someone the joy of Christmas, so that people do not feel disadvantaged,” says Irina Redko, an employee of the Mercy service.

Gifts will be collected from December 1 to January 5, distributed on January 6, 7 (on the Christmas holiday itself) and on Christmastide. Muscovites can bring gifts every day from 12 to 21 o'clock at the address: st. Bolshaya Ordynka, 34 (metro Tretyakovskaya, Marfo-Mariinskaya Convent of Mercy).
