Participants of “Strategy-31” again tried to hold an action in the form of a sit-in strike on Triumfalnaya Square. Several participants sat right on the zebra crossing near the Mayakovskaya metro station. The police forced them onto the sidewalk. Detentions began with the appearance of the first participants in the action. A total of 35 people were detained, among them Left Front activist Konstantin Kosyakin, Solidarity activist Anastasia Rybachenko, Defense coordinator Oleg Kozlovsky, composer Alexander Manotskov. The leader of the Other Russia, Eduard Limonov, was not detained, just like on July 31. As Kasparov.Ru reports, on the way to the Presnensky police station, police brutally beat detained Other Russia activist Simon Verdiyan.
Later it became known that Konstantin Kosyakin was left overnight at the Tverskoy police station until his trial, despite the fact that he is disabled.
In St. Petersburg, about 50 people were detained during protests near Gostiny Dvor and on Palace Square; here, detentions also began as soon as activists gathered.
Rallies were also held in Krasnoyarsk (here the action took the form of a rally, Solidarity activist Ilya Yashin spoke, the police did not interfere with the rally), Chelyabinsk, and Yekaterinburg.
