“While there are no documents confirming the dismissal of Farid Salman, the district executive authorities are considering his candidacy as the mufti of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug,” says a statement from the department of information and public relations of the autonomous district, quoted by Russian Line. The executive authorities call for coordination of positions in the Central Muslim Spiritual Directorate and hope for “responsibility of spiritual leaders to Muslims living in the territory of the Autonomous Okrug.”
