The British fencer Bob Anderson, who duplicated David Prowse as Darth Vader in key scenes of fights in Star Wars, died in a hospital at the age of 89, ABC reports.
Anderson worked in the cinema for more than 50 years as a fighter of battles, worked with actors from Errola Flynn to Antonio Banderas. In the Star Wars, he replaced David a provision, since the actor, according to the former assistant Anderson, "did not work with a sword very well." The scenes were performed flawlessly, although Anderson, who was about 60, was lower than the provision. Until 1983, it was secret until Mark Hamille, who played Luke Skywalker, did not reveal this circumstance in an interview with 1983: "It is ridiculous to support the myth that everything was done by one person. Bob did a colossal job and deserves his piece of glory."
Robert James Gilbert Anderson was born in Humpshire in 1922. Prior to work in the cinema, he professionally engaged in sports fencing and received several awards, represented Britain at the Olympiads. Among his works in the cinema, they stand out "from Russia with love" (from Bondiana), "Mask Zorro" (with Banderas), the trilogy "The Lord of the Rings".
