The Academy of Sciences has clearly been shaken lately - not without the help of its beloved authorities. Then they excited the scientific community because they wanted to appoint rectors. Then the media poured “mud”: they say that only businessmen and officials are hired as academicians. Now scientists are promised a salary increase, but at the same time they want to fire up to 20% of the employees. It is difficult to judge how necessary the measure is, but scientists are against it. Protest rallies are taking place today in all Russian cities where there are research centers of the Russian Academy of Sciences. About a hundred people gathered on Old Square in Moscow.
