Yuri Luzhkov again decided to fight for his reputation: the Basmanny Court of Moscow on Thursday began to consider the claim of the capital mayor against State Duma deputy Alexander Lebedev and the Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper. Luzhkov demands that Lebedev's statements published in the newspaper be refuted. In particular, according to Lebedev, the mayor demands that the statements that “in Moscow, under the pretext of reconstruction, hundreds of historical and architectural monuments have been destroyed and at the same time the so-called compacting development is underway…” are recognized as untrue.
