Eleven Russian sailors accused of oil smuggling were freed in a Nigerian courtroom on Wednesday. The lawyers managed to agree on a reduced guilty verdict. As a result, the court found the sailors guilty and sentenced them to six months in prison. But since they had already spent more than two years in pre-trial detention, immediately after the verdict was announced, the sailors were released from custody. Already on December 25-26 they should fly home.
