We filed the complaint only today, so there are no results yet. As a candidate for deputy, I go to meetings at universities, and students very often come up to me and complain. They are openly told: “If you don’t go to vote, don’t provide us with 100% turnout, and we will monitor this, then we will deprive you of dormitories, meals at universities, next year we will not renew your dormitory contract,” etc. That is, they openly threaten, and they say that they will definitely monitor who votes and who does not. Many students – from pedagogical universities, from the Law Academy – are simply forced to take absentee ballots, come to the polling station at the university and vote. In one of the institutes of the Sverdlovsk region, in Novouralsk, there is general outrage, ranging from intimidation and threats, ending with the fact that before the elections they will be collected and told who to vote for.
I know for sure that all city and regional hospitals will operate in the same mode on election day: they were forced to take absentee ballots in the same way. And not only those who work on this day, but all medical staff are forced to vote at their place of work. This is how the authorities of the Sverdlovsk region ensure turnout.
