The case Pussy Riot is, first of all, a convenient case for field research of the religious views system, which is professed by a significant part of Russian Christians: we will call them homo orthodoxus.
I will not touch the difficult question now whether a religion is a good thing or how much a church as a social institution generally corresponds to the commandments of Christ.
If possible, first I will describe the actual state of affairs, as it is, and then I will allow myself several conclusions.
Firstly, God does not forgive in this system of beliefs. “God does not forgive, and to affirm other - blasphemy” - these are the words of the Orthodox activist Yakimov, who beed a woman. When Pussy Riot defenders lined up near the XXS with the words “blessed are the gracious,” they were dispersed for the “obscene phrase”. Nebel from Homo Orthodoxus is such an important characteristic of God that He does not correlate it with the commandments of Christ itself.
Secondly, God gives Homo orthodoxus generous material gifts: second cousins, apartments without nanopyl, residences, hours, cars with Malta's dipnsers, etc., etc. This is the very essence of the deity, and it is very accurately expressed in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior, where they are noted in line without line without line. relics.
Thirdly, this god does not make any moral requirements against his supporters: he only allows them to make these requirements for others.

One of our famous singers, demanding heavenly punishment for Pussy Riot, lives in sin with a gypsy, whose daughter is older than her herself. God forbid me to present an account for this sin, say, Ksenia Sobchak. But if you declare commitment to a certain set of rules, then, it would seem, you need to start with yourself. But no.

This is a very important point. Christianity - at least theoretically - is a set of moral organities imposed on itself. The Homo Orthodoxus beliefs, how easy it is to make an empirical way, is built differently. It provides for a “second cousin”, nanopyl, the construction of a five -star “monastery” in Bakovka, a dacha in Gelendzhik, the disappearing watch - like what God himself blessed believers, and she believes to talk about it with a sin. How do they laugh? Yes, who are they opened to the mouth, cursed sinners?!
The fourth moment: the power in this religion is equal to God. Therefore, they try to equate Putin’s insult to sacrilege. Putin is either an avatar or an anointed of God, who, in fact, gives the believer “Mercedes” and dachas and punishes those who doubt their righteousness.
Another very important point: this belief system does not require sacrifice. This is its difference from Islamism. The Islamist is ready to sacrifice himself. He will kill others for the fact that they are not the way God should be, but first of all he is ready to sacrifice himself. Homo Orthodoxus does not sacrifice themselves, the Karia of the Sanners. They ask for power about it.
All of the above resembles a little resemble moral, sacrificial and tolerant, Christian faith, in the form in which Count Tolstoy showed it to us, or Valentin Voyno-Yasenetsky (Bishop Luke), or John Paul II.
This system of beliefs cannot even be called paganism: it will be unfair to the Romans or Confucians who brought the moral requirements for a person to a very high level.
By the degree of primitiveness, this is some kind of Australian totemism: the religion of a primitive man, with a complete lack of moral requirements, replaced by ridiculous prohibitions and neurotic taboos, with a primitive, evil and petty god, who crumbles his follower with worldly benefits and punishes his enemies.
Where did such a primitive complex of beliefs come from in the beginning of the XXI century in a developed country?
It seems to me that some role in the formation of Homo Orthodokhus was played by the fact that a significant part of the hierarchs of the Orthodox Church were KGB agents. That is, every second they should have been practiced in practical doubles, and God acquired the features of Lavrenty Pavlovich Beria.
Some role was played by the fact that in the early 90s, bandits began to come to the church. This is natural: the closer death, the more superstitious man. But the bandits were not going to abandon the profession. They needed that a bell hung in the church with the inscription “from the Solntsevo lads”, and for this God will do everything that He usually does for the Australian Aboriginal.
But still, it seems to me that the main role here was played by the total destruction of the spiritual sphere in communism. Morality is the result of a very difficult process of raising primitive superstitions.
From any religion, you can build something highly moral, but hundreds should pass for this, if not thousands, years old. Moral commandments are like a chernozem, they cannot appear immediately, thousands of years of special conditions in which plant remains are processed. The system of moral requirements, addressed to itself, is a complex organic process, it cannot arise on the basis of inorganic chemistry.
Under Stalin, morality was destroyed and the altruists did not survive. The spiritual humus was sodran to the basalt base. When a new generation comes to such a barren stone, those who begin to believe in God very often begin to believe in the extremely primitive God.

What happened in Pussy Riot?
The performance of Pussy Riot hit the very center of totemism professed by Homo Orthodoxus. And it turned out that we are not talking about mediocre text, mediocre music and not about the desire of the members of the group to PR.
It turned out that we are talking about the issue fundamental for the current Russian society: do we agree to live in totemism in the 21st century?
And the amazing answer was that a huge part of society was disagreeable. Both those for whom Christ is pluskvamperfym, and those for whom Christ are primarily the moral law within us are disagreed. The number of people who went to the court of the court to support the “pusy”, and that turned out to be more than the number of their opponents.
The mistake of Putin and Cyril was that Homo Orthodoxus, with his branched taboos and primitive psychology, they took for the majority of society. This is a mistake that is very easy to make. If you are an idol to whom they pray, then it is easy to decide that everyone prays to an idol.
But it turned out that although people with the psychology of Homo Orthodoxus are probably the majority of FSB officers, Putin's friends and the Ground Parishioners - they make up the absolute minority regarding the whole society.
Russian society - and this is the difference not only from the Middle East, but even from the United States - deeply secular. 30% of people calling themselves Orthodox believe that there is no God. What is the Trull Cathedral?
If Russian society were really deeply religious, then the actions of Patriarch Kirill would lead to the Reformation as debauchery and Simony of Roman dads led to Luther. But uneducated segments of the population are descendants of Soviet atheists, and educated segments of the population consider themselves part of the European liberal tradition. In extreme cases, if there is a person who wants to sacrifice himself for God, so he will accept Islam.
It turned out a very simple thing. Russia can be described in different ways: as lumpenized, drunk, disintegrated, deeply left, maybe Western, maybe semician. It's hard to say. But Russia is completely not ready to return to the primitive totemism of the Australian Aborigines, with his system of meaningless prohibitions, only instead of a totem to worship a cross, which gives many, many apartments, residences, second cousins ​​and other benefits to the leader of the society and its sacred king.
Still, this is the stage of the development of mankind that Russia has passed. And if her power remained at this stage, then this means that power is doomed.
Let's say frankly: the totemistic system of beliefs involves a strong punishment for violating the commandments. For sacrilege cannot be given for two years. It is necessary to either be burned for it - and then religious totalitarianism is born, everyone believes in fear, and who does not believe, he is at least silent from fear; Or give 15 days - and then you have a free secular state. Two years - this does not happen. This is too unstable the system.
