As expected, Left Front activist Sergei Udaltsov was arrested by court for three days after being detained during a rally near the Central Election Commission on August 29. The arrest was imposed for allegedly disobeying the legal demands of a police officer; in addition, Udaltsov was fined two thousand rubles for exceeding the permissible number of participants in the rally - ten people announced, but thirty showed up. In general, of course, people with the kindest souls could, as usual, spend 15 days. On the other hand, it is possible that the main intention was not to let Udaltsov into Triumfalnaya Square on August 31, and then, they say, let him walk until the next meetings with the police.
Udaltsov plans to appeal the court decision. In addition, he went on a dry hunger strike.
