Ah, Marat!

We congratulate all readers of the Daily Journal on the outstanding success of Marat Safin. Today, nothing could save his opponent in the final, Leighton Hewitt: neither his native walls, nor the support of a fifteen-thousand-seat stadium, nor the help of local line judges. Safin simply knows how to play tennis better - he literally swept Hewitt off the court. The result was a victory in the Grand Slam tournament, the second in his career. As they say, God grant, Marat, that she is not the last. In a word, hurray!!!
