Before the start of the march, the police searched its participants and censored visual propaganda. The day before, the authorities warned that it was prohibited to mention the Olympics and Euromaidan on posters and banners. The organizers said they would not comply with the demands and called on the marchers to write any slogans on the posters.
At the head of the columns were representatives of RPR-PARNAS - Mikhail Kasyanov and Boris Nemtsov, as well as activists of Solidarity and the Left Front. The situation during the entire action was calm and even sad.
