In society Small demon It remains only to guess what Yauza publishers thought about, including the “Mosque of the Paris Mother of God” Elena Chudinova in the deliberately pop series of “War of the Future” and rushing it into a rolling cover, which clearly hints at belonging to the genre of Trash-Boevik. It is even more difficult to understand the position of those who immediately after the appearance of the “mosque” on the book shelves began to be violently indignant about the anti -Muslim attacks contained in the novel and worry about what, now, they say, the ultrashovinistic and Xenophobic ideas of Italian journalist Oriana Fallachi gained popular, affordable to any lumpen and therefore a particularly dangerous form.

In both cases, we are dealing with obviously incorrect positioning. Firstly, the book of Chudinova is not related not only to the trash-boa, but also to mass literature in general. And secondly, there can be no talk of any “popularization” of the anti-Islamic views of the Fallum of speech in this case: the “mosque of the Parisian Mother of God”, of course, was built entirely on the ideas expressed by the “frantic Oriana” in her famous “Fury and Pride” pamphlet, however, if one of these two ladies can be considered a “popularizer” that focus on lumpy Mass, then certainly not Chudinov .
“The Mosque of the Paris Mother of God” is a slow, dry, boring book, as if specially avoiding flirting with mass tastes and requiring a considerable erudition and perseverance from the reader. Two types of notes (extensive comments at the end of the book plus nobility, the volume of almost half the main text), a lengthy author’s afterword, an abundance of difficult words, incomprehensible to the average layman, and the petty of the religious life of Europe of the twentieth century, described with unimaginable details and completely unnecessary details, all this turns the romance - all this turns the novel - all this turns the novel. Chudinova in reading, to put it mildly, is difficult.
The plot, however, is-quite folding, but, alas, implemented in a while and using cardboard, papier-mash and other inexpensive materials. So, the middle of the XXI century. The world is split: on the one hand, Eurabia is Europe, which perished under the iga of Islamist expansion, humiliated and completely lost its own cultural identity. On the other hand, Orthodox Russia with several satellites, with varying success, defending from Islamic fanatics. With the third - happy distant Australia, which retained the traditional European way and is increasingly reminiscent of the fairy -tale "islands of blessed." However, the fragile balance is about to be violated: the euro-Islamists are preparing to go on the offensive, and their first step will be the destruction of Christian ghetto in Europe, in which those who refused to come to terms with a new order were driven out. But not everything is so gloomy-in Paris, the rebels are opposed to the villains-vahbits. These are the heroes of the new French resistance, led by the mysterious Sofia Sevazmiu (obviously written off with the notorious Falllachi), as well as the last surviving Catholics-Tradealists. In order to prevent the mass death of their fellow tribesmen and the final violation of all the shrines of European civilization, they have to jointly carry out an act of intimidation of Muslims, unprecedented in their scope - to blow up the scolded cathedral of the Parisian Mother of God, turned into a new order into a mosque, but before that, to serve a full -fledged Catholic mass in it.
The plot, however, is important for Chudinova to about the same extent as for writers of the 18th century, who put on their philosophical treatises in the form of the novel. In other words, it serves no more than a conditional frame, which is fixed by a multi -colored panel of ideology. The ideology of this goalkeeper is as follows: Islamic expansion poses an unconditional danger to European culture. This danger is strengthened by the indifference of most Europeans to the cornerstone of European civilization - Christianity, and ecumenism that recognizes the equality of all religions, as well as the reformation currents within Catholicism, is most dangerous. Modern Europeans themselves provoke aggressors by their softness, and if the European policy course does not change in the near future, Europe is doomed. The most disgusting figures in this regard are “renegates” like the deceased John Paul II and father Alexander menu, and the author’s leader of Catholics-Tradealists of Archbishop Marseille Lefevere, already mentioned by the Fallachi and others like them.
No matter how unsympathetic the ideology that underlies the “Mosque of the Parisian Mother of God” looks like, it would deserve, at least, a competent answer - if not for one petty circumstance. Elena Chudinova is a shallow lady and, apparently, pretty educated (in the text, allusions on the classics of religious thought from Thomas Aquerton to Chesterton and from Berdyaev to Mariten are guessed in the text) cannot, with all that, with all that the temptation of household xenophobia, which becomes one of the subdivated engines of her novel. The result of this petty demonic obsession is the whole philosophy, the whole pathos, invested in Chudinova in the book, immediately undergoes a brutal retention, falling in the cost of up to three cents on a bazaar day. What can be seriously talking about with the author, announcing all the Greeks-cunning and hopeless egoists, Poles-moral freaks, "practically incapable of generosity", Jews-noisy and greedy talkers, sweaty, stupid and indirect fats, Albanians-dirty shake-tramples, and Negroes-meaningless-meaningless cattle? .. Even an episodic character - a disgusting accomplice of Chechen terrorists is who would you think? Well, of course Estonka.
It is this frank cheapness, a nasty yellowness, suddenly appearing through a complex and even in its own way, the exquisite fabric of Roman Chudinova, instantly leads its creator beyond the cultural field, on which any equal discussions are possible. One wrong step - and now the “Mosque of the Parisian Mother of God” does not cause anything but disgust. However, possibly petty, shameful, like a bad illness, an almost physiological hostility to foreigners, as well as an innate tendency to chauvinism are the indefinite properties of all those who love highly paraly by the “symmetric responsibility” of Islamic fanatics-terrorists, the need to preserve their own cultural identity in front of the face of foreign expansion and an incomparable The greatness of European culture, capable of giving one hundred points of handicap of any other? It will be necessary to look better in the future-somehow this hypothesis is very similar to the truth.
