The National Assembly decided to hold round tables on political topics in a number of Russian cities. As part of this decision, on Saturday in Tomsk the local branch of the United Civil Front will hold a round table on the topic “The Role of Political Parties in Modern Russia.”
The planned event almost turned out to be disrupted according to the already familiar scenario: despite preliminary agreements with the management of the local House of Scientists, two days before the round table, the organizers received a refusal to provide premises with reference to the regional administration and specifically to Governor Victor Kress.
However, at the moment a new premises have been found - the building of the Tomsk Version Theater. Among the participants are representatives of local branches of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, Liberal Democratic Party, A Just Russia, the Russian Communist Workers' Party (RCWP), the Russian People's Democratic Union, the Union of Right Forces, Yabloko, the National Bolsheviks and the United Front. Of the large and influential political parties and organizations, of course, only United Russia is missing.
