More than 400 IK-46 prisoners in Nevyansk, the Sverdlovsk region, announced a hunger strike. This was reported by the regional Federal Penitentiary Service. It is claimed that on Sunday morning the convicts "refused to eat food and did not go to breakfast." "The reason for the refusal is not explained, they do not put forward any requirements," the headcade says.

At the same time, the situation in the colony is characterized as “completely controlled”, and information about the mass riots that occur there is declared inconsistent.

The head of the regional Federal Penitentiary Service of the Internal Service, the head of the regional Federal Penitentiary Service, went to IK-46. For his part, a member of the regional PMC Alexander Anikin wrote that he also went to the colony with colleagues in the commission. The Ombudsman of the region Tatyana Merzlyakova also left there.

Ura.ru, citing an unnamed source, reported that the cause of the hunger strike was the murder of one of the prisoners. UFSIN refutes this information.

According to Glavka, on Friday a certain A., sentenced to 8 years 9 months under part 4 of article 162 of the Criminal Code (robbery) and who was in a schizo, felt bad. Later, Ura.ru reported with reference to Anikin that A. died from a blow to the region of the heart. “In addition to the beatings, traces of handcuffs are recorded,” the social activist added. He also said that about 40 “suspicious persons” gathered near the colony. What kind of persons are it, the human rights activist did not specify; At the same time, the publication reports that representatives of the Kyrgyz diaspora arrived at the IK-46: the deceased was their fellow countryman.

Anikin also did not exclude that along with the case under Article 111 of the Criminal Code, the Investigative Department can open one more under Article 286 (abuse of authority).
