However, the American court intervened, where Yukos appealed to voluntary bankruptcy. This claim almost tore off the auction for the sale of Yuganskneftegaz, since the consortium of Western banks, which was about to provide Gazprom’s loan, refused to participate in the transaction.
As a result, the main oil producing asset of Yukos bought Rosneft. Now its head Sergei Bogdanchikov was headed by Yuganskneftegaz, which will not be part of Gazprom and will remain a separate state company. There is little sense in this castle: whether it was worth starting with the unification of state oil and gas assets under the wing of Gazprom, then to create another state oil company. However, Bogdanchikov, apparently, decided that it was better to lead the just large oil company than to become the head of one of their activities of the giant oil and gas holding and go to the beginning of Alexei Miller. Bogdanchikov in such an innocent desire after he took a chance and bought the Yuganskneftegaz (which Gazprom top managers did not go), despite the decision of the Houston court, it was impossible. True, there are no guarantees that Yuganskneftegaz will be able to fight off for a long time from attempts to absorb from the world's largest in the available reserves of the energy company, which Gazprom becomes. And these attempts will begin, as soon as the company of Alexei Miller will digest Rosneft. If not earlier.
